Hi everyone,
I’m Julita (Julie) and I’m part of Focallocal for around 4 years. It’s a group of really amazing and positive people - as you know, and I’m proud to be one of them!!
I remember it like today, 4 years ago I heard about Focallocal at work (restaurant/bar), few of the guys who just met on Free Hugs decided to go for a drink. I thought wanna try as well. Soonest I met Andy and other members I just felt like I’m home (I was new to the country at this time). I started going on Free Hugs regularly, then Pillow Fights, Take a Smile, I’ve got a message for you… Those are all beautiful ideas making people smile and changing not just their day but also mine!!
Lately started my journey with Video Editing. Focallocal is doing so much but we need to show others through videos what is it all about so I’m learning editing and filming and I’m really excited about it as I feel this is something I would like to do now but also in the future.
Thanks guys and hope to meet more of you very soon

Hi I’m Kathleen.I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA and I’m new to Focallocal. I was a host in my city for The World’s Biggest Eye Contact Experiment last fall, and met Andy through the organizers’ group for that event. I really love what I’ve seen of this group so far, and I’m glad to be getting involved. I am going to be a tester for the new site, and hopefully anything else I can do to support that my not-so-tech-savvy skill set and the distance will allow.

Hello I’m Farah and I’m an artist and art teacher. I’m here to see what I can offer. I want to do an art project with the homeless in London at some point as I was in Kensington last year and made friends with a few homeless people and saw a great need for them to have someone to talk to and a place to express themselves and socialise.

I did a lovely meditation course with Focallocal and that’s how I got involved in the artwork here.

It’s nice to be part of a supportive community with common aims and that works to change our world for the better.

I am SaNina (Sara + Nina or Mizuki) and I currently work as an IT Support Manager for an IT Company in London
That’s my day job… By night and weekends and every time I can, I do Photography. Mostly into portraits and Street Photography and I am looking to do some projects this year. One of them is actually related to Homeless people. I follow the Tao and the Natural ways… I do meditation and Yoga on a daily basis.
I live near Forest Hill at the moment, but it’s quite a cool place

I’ve participated in the Eyes contact experiment last year, and I’ve got a message for you. And time allowing, I hope I can participate in other projects. Sometimes I get caught with work, but I guess that is what it is for now.

Living the Present Moment, and spreading the love and positive vibes <3
See you soon

Hi I’m Andy. I founded this Community 5 years ago and have been building it ever since. I also came up with the idea for this map 1.5 years ago and have been coordinating with teams of focallocallers to build it ever since. i am more excited about finally launching than paddling pool filled with puppies who’ve just seen an entire bag full of brand-new tennis balls thrown in their direction

I mostly am skilled in idea generation, supporting teams and the community, and project management. Although i also have basic HTML, CSS and Copy Writing Skills

Thank you for joining me on this Mission!

Heyy all, you amazing hack heros!

I’m Kirsty; Assistant Psychologist by day job but avid do-gooder/volunteer obsessive by nature! I’ll be along for some of Saturday and Sunday (either side of prior volunteering committments) to do some Scrum Mastering (work flow and team fun!) and I’d love to start populating the map, with some resource hunting. Also keen to chip in with some user experience testing, as I’m not at all techhie!

See you all at the weekend, yay!

Hi Folks I’m Dougie from Cumbernauld outside Glasgow Scotland.

I’m an IT bod and up for helping if possible. Having had experience of being of no fixed abode I understand what it’s like , how much it sucks and how people fall off the radar leaving those who very often are vulnerable without the right care.

While being there in person is not possible the internet allows me to do quite a fair bit from my living room ;0)

Peace , Love and Light

Hello everyone,
I am very pleased to join this group and the actions, beliefs it represents.

My name is Radu, I was born in beautiful Romania, but in the past 8 years I lived between Paris and Bruxelles.

I am an experienced JavaScript developer doing both frontend and backend. I worked a lot with meteor, since the early days and I really hope I can help you in the development process.

Looking forward to give a bit of my time to this noble cause, learn new things from other developers and make friends -
all while contributing to a better world for those who lack even the basics of it.

Thanks Andy and the rest of the team.

Hi all! I’m Jes. 20+ year veteran of tech. Currently working as Chief Technology Officer for a start up based in Detroit, as well as consulting non-profits (and whatever else I can get into). My “superpowers” include strategy, product development, software engineering, and UI/UX. I happened to come across the post on a remote focused hub and instantly knew I needed to reach out. I have purposefully focused my work on socially conscious tech the past few years and this really struck a chord with me. I hope to be able contribute to the mission in making the world a happier, safer, and more inclusive space for all. Cheers!

Hi all,
I’m Calum from the Scottish Highlands. I’m here to lend a hand with entry of data onto the brighter tomorrow Map. I’m going to start with the information from http://www.thepavement.org.uk/services.php?facility=&service=5&city=24 and move on from there to help increase the amount of info we’ve got on the map.
